Data Collection

Device Manager

The Wavewin Device Manager is an advanced data collection platform. It includes an extensive library of drivers for polling IEDs and retrieving their latest fault and disturbance records. It provides a database for configuring communication, storage, and reporting parameters. It complies with NERC PRC and CIP requirements.

Each copy can poll up to 2,000 devices simultaneously. Both "report by exception" and "poll upon demand" functionality are supported and reports on communications integrity are also provided. The product is also used for logging access on numerical relays and is equipped with an HMI used to populate single line diagrams with periodic readings including volts, amps, watts, VARs and status information.

COMTRADE File Collector (CFC)

The COMTRADE File Collector is an automated data collection platform that is designed to extract COMTRADE files from digital fault recorders (DFRs), and digital relays that use the file transfer protocol (FTP/FTPS), the SSH file transfer protocol (SFTP) or the IEC 61850 manufacturing message specification file service (MMS). CFC now also supports custom drivers for connections to vendor specfic relays which use one of the XMODEM, YMODEM, or ZMODEM protocols.

The application is designed specifically for the download and renaming of COMTRADE records although it can still be used to download non-COMTRADE files. Files collected by the software will be saved to a folder specified by the user and renamed to be compliant with the COMNAME standard.
