COMTRADE Viewer

The COMTRADE Viewer includes a fault data manager and a graphical analysis interface. The data manager supports the IEEE Standard C37.232-2011 "File Naming Convention for Time Sequence Data" (COMNAME). The analysis interface supports IEEE Standard C37.111-1991/1999/2013 "Common Format for Transient Data Exchange" (COMTRADE).

It provides fast sort and query engines, smart copy, move, and delete methods, and it allows for appending and merging of multiple records. The product is loaded with analysis features including waveform plots, phasor diagrams, sequence of events reports, harmonic tables, software channels, circular charts, and is equipped with an array of calculators for calculating frequency, sequence components, and fault location (both single and double ended algorithms are provided).

Universal Viewer

The Universal Viewer is an advanced version of the COMTRADE Viewer. It includes drivers for reading proprietary formats from various IED producers. It includes a universal converter for converting the proprietary formats to COMTRADE (both ASCII and Binary formats are supported). It provides macros for creating inputs to short circuit simulation and modeling applications.

It is also equipped with expert system modules for ranking fault records (based on targets, magnitude, and duration), and for trending periodic load measurements over long periods of time (based on overload, imbalance, and efficiency). The product is recognized for its effectiveness in simplifying and expediting the process of fault and disturbance analysis and was sighted by NERC as being "indispensable" in the blackout investigation of August 14th, 2003.

Device Manager

The Device Manager is an advanced version of the Universal Viewer. It includes an extensive library of drivers for polling IEDs and retrieving their latest fault and disturbance records. It provides a database for configuring communication, storage, and reporting parameters. It complies with NERC PRC and CIP requirements.

Each copy can poll up to 2,000 devices simultaneously. Both "report by exception" and "poll upon demand" functionality are supported and reports on communications integrity are also provided. The product is used for logging access and changing passwords on numerical relays and is equipped with an HMI used to populate single line diagrams with periodic readings including volts, amps, watts, VARs and status information.

COM Conformity Check (CCC)

COM Conformity Check is designed to detect format errors in the COMTRADE standard, COMNAME standard and the COMTRADE-Synchrophasor template. A standard format error can be defined as any deviation from or misinterpretation of the defined format. In the COMTRADE standard formatting errors can be as small as an extra or missing comma. This can make them almost impossible to spot with the naked eye and can hinder the analysis process. With the ability to detect 91 possible errors in COMTRADE records, 43 possible errors in COMNAME filenames and five possible errors in the COMTRADE-Synchropahsor template if there is an format error CCC will catch it.

CCC supports all three active versions of the Comtrade standard, and the latest revision of the COMNAME standard and COMTRADE-Synchrophasor template. The user simply chooses a directory they would like the report files saved to, and the filename. Once the Create Report button is clicked the Application does the rest.

COMTRADE File Collector (CFC)

COMTRADE File Collector is an automated data collection platform designed to extract COMTRADE files from digital fault recorders (DFRs), and digital relays that use the file transfer protocol (FTP/FTPS), SSH file transfer protocol (SFTP), or the IEC 61850 manufacturing message specification file service (MMS).

The application is designed specifically for the download and renaming of COMTRADE records although it can still be used to download non-COMTRADE files. Files collected by the software will be saved to a folder specified by the user and renamed to be compliant with the COMNAME standard.

WaveCopy

WaveCopy is designed to copy files or sub-directories from multiple locations to one central location. The application will also rename any copied transient data files to be compliant with the COMNAME standard. This application was created to meet the growing need to consolidate event records created by mutiple recording devices in one central directory.

WaveSize

WaveSize is designed to ensure there will always be available memory in unmanned data collection systems. The software does this by deleting files that are larger than a certain size, or older than a certain date. The software can also keep entire directories under a certain size.

COMTRADE Archive

COMTRADE Archive is designed to move and archive lists of COMTRADE records. The records will be stored in sub-directories based on the month and date they were created under there source directory. COMTRADE Archive is specifically designed to work with transient data diagnostic files produced by Wavewin.

Wavewin Data Diode

The Wavewin Data Diode is used to collect fault and disturbance data files from various types of CCA devices within an ESP (such as numerical relays), and then securly moves the collected data to a second Wavewin Diode outside the ESP.

The collected data files include digital fault records, sequence of events records, metering logs, device settings, and health checks.
