Softstuf,
founded in 1991, is a Philadelphia based corporation that specializes in
the design of advanced analysis systems for measuring performance of large electrical
power systems during fault and disturbance conditions. Softstuf is the home of the
Wavewin® software and the Sniffer data acquisition tools.

The Data Management Application handles all of the Device information that is extracted
from the networked Devices as well as other data stored on the company network. The
extracted information can also be passed to existing databases such as PI, Oracle...
All information aquired from the networked Devices is saved to the company network using the
IEEE long file naming format. All files are managed by the File Manager
table. This table is similar to Windows Explorer with application specific functions tailored
for the Power Utility Industry. The table columns are used to display the contents
of the long names. An IEEE filename is composed of ten, comma-delimited fields as shown below:
- Start Date (Required Field)
- Start Time (Required Field)
- Time Code (Required Field)
- Station (Required Field)
- Device (Required Field)
- Company (Required Field)
- Duration (Optional Field)
- Type (Optional Field)
- Latitude (Optional Field)
- Longitude (Optional Field)
